"If you Come at the king, you best not miss" ~Omar Little, The wire.
It is rather Frequent these days we see some post-drama spin from the major factions, Euro-corp leaks information and the other factions say that they intentionally leaked stuff to a spy and they caught them, always after the fact, never anyone gets kicked and and never any names mentioned. One would think naming and shaming the spy publicly would be a smart move. Burning my assets and power base for information brokerage. well I submit to you the reader that these claims are entirely fictitious and that I have not lost any spys, ever in fact. But its really my word against theirs, and as my character is of ill repute It is understandable to question everything I say. Hey I'd be disappointed if people took me at my word unquestionably.
with the prologue out of the way, on to this evenings main event.
After Leanson my long standing #2 left euro-corp, I was unsure of his relationship with me, even though he went on to make his own faction and later joined "The Athanatos Concord" an alliance I hold no faith in. I was curious if he would be still supportive of my
interests. He left euro-corp because he had no taste for the espionage, but this might have changed when he became relevant to my information network. so to test his loyalties I left him with limited access to the euro-corp forums, access that allowed him to see things that I wanted him to see.
with the trap set the only thing to do was wait..
Maybe if Leanson picked better allies, factions whose leadership didn't leak like a sieve I might not have found out, but instead I got to watch the information flow like a stream of water first to DFN and then to their allies in lazarus and sure enough in time many Concord members knew. the information in question was a dated, redacted version of a Lazarus dossier, naming active players, their preferred time zones, age, specialty, and some ships profiles. Nothing too impressive, In fact nothing that can't be gathered from the forums from the recruitment thread and account profiles, all publicly published information.
I don't hold a grudge against leanson, when he was euro-corp he was a great player and a great officer and now he has left he owes me no debt, I played him as much as he played me, this is the nature of the meta game.
But while I am naming names, considering all the crying from Lazarus and DFN about the recently stolen ships, well I know for a fact they asked Leanson to try to steal euro-corp ships to which he had no access. which would have been them stealing ships from a 3rd party website and not even from ingame. can anyone say "hypocrites". considering they have been pushing for me to be banned over this issue it just goes to highlight how moderator interaction in factional politics can be disruptive and show inherit bias. They are playing the exact same game as I am, just not as well.
"honey you should see me in a crown" ~Jim Moriarty, Sherlock.
